RE Profession – Living and Working for CBRE in Austria

Life in real estate in Europe (specifically at CBRE in Austria) is good at the moment – the historically rock bottom long-term interest rates in combination with the relatively strong Euro attract yield-hungry capital with no end in sight.

Martin Moser, Baker ’16, is a Real Estate Broker at CBRE in Austria. Prior to joining CBRE, Martin was a Masters in Real Estate candidate in the Baker Program in Real Estate at Cornell where he was co-President of the Associate Real Estate Council.

What I Do – My Current Position

I work for the leading broker, CBRE, in Austria where we have seen forward deals trade for a sub-4%-cap-rate and hard-to-sell buildings at competitive pricings. Lucky those who were land-banking over the past years or control the bottlenecks in the construction supply chain.

My personal focus, besides brokering commercial real estate sales, is building up CBRE’s capital advisory services in the Austrian market where we introduce equity and mezzanine capital to developers.

Vienna

Work-life balance here in Austria is great – there are good reasons why Vienna has repeatedly been voted the most livable city in the world!
