Meet the Chapter Leadership Team

Takashi Naito

B.S., ’98

Takashi Naito is based in Tokyo and Head of Real Estate for DWS Group in Japan where he is responsible for deal origination, asset management and business development. He is a member of the APAC Real Estate Investment Committee and serves as Chairman of the Japan Investment Advisory Board for Alternatives Investment.

Mr. Naito has approximately 25 years of real estate investment and banking experience specializing in direct real estate investments, debt and special situations. Prior to DWS, he was a Managing Director at PAG, an alternative investment firm with over $50 billion of assets under management, where he focused on investments in real estate and distressed debt. He joined PAG from Fortress Investment Group where he was one of the early members to establish its real estate business in Japan. Prior to Fortress Investment Group, he was a Director at Credit Suisse as part of its real estate private equity business, DLJ Real Estate Capital Partners. He received a B.S. in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering from Cornell University.

Masayuki Ozaki

MBA/MMH ’06

Masayuki (Masa) Ozaki is based in Tokyo, and is a Principal, RE-ICS (Real Estate-Institutional Client Solutions) at Blackstone Group Japan, where he is responsible for fund raising and investor relations for Japanese institutional and retail investors, covering all Blackstone institutional and retail real estate products.

Mr. Ozaki has approximately 15 years of buyside equity research/portfolio management experience covering publicly listed real estate companies and REITs throughout APAC. Prior to Blackstone, he was a Senior Portfolio Manager at APG, a Dutch pension fund with over EUR54 billion of real estate assets under management, where he was primarily responsible for managing the EUR4 billion APAC listed real estate portfolio for APG’s Strategic Real Estate Pool, which invests in both listed and private/direct real estate equity opportunities. He also previously worked for Heitman, Fidelity Management & Research, and Cornerstone Real Estate Advisers (now Barings Real Estate). He received a LL.M. (Political Science) from Keio University, and an MBA/MMH from Cornell University.
